In January, the FBI shut down MEGAUPLOAD, the file-sharing site of the German Internet millionaire “Kim Dotcom” (Kim Schmitz) and arrested the overweight businessman. Now he is back – with bold plans!
“SOPA is dead. Pipa is dead. ACTA is dead. MEGA will return”, Schmitz wrote on Twitter, ” Bigger Better Faster, for free, and safe from further attacks….!”. Over 10,000 users had forwarded the notice of Dotcom on Twitter. There’s a lot of interest that MEGAUPLOAD comes back online.
How can Schmitz be so certain all of a sudden?
The MEGAUPLOAD founder had recently won a court victory. The New Zealand Judge Helen Winkelmann had ruled that the raid at his villa was illegal.
“The police had false search warrants when they raided the property and various items were seized. Search and seizure were therefore illegal”, the judge explained. The seized computer data had illegally copied and forwarded to the U.S. authorities have Winkelmann stated further.
